On July 24, 2024, at 8:30 a.m., Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus, hosted the 4th IMT-GT University Network (UNINET) meeting, providing a platform for educational leaders from universities within the IMT-GT network, consisting of three countries, with a total of 32 participants. Assistant Professor Dr. Thakerng Wongsirichot, Vice President for Academic Affairs and International Affairs at Prince of Songkla University, and IMT-GT UNINET coordinator for Thailand, opened the meeting. Assistant Professor Dr. Attachai Ueranantasun, Vice President for Pattani Campus, welcomed the participants to the 4th IMT-GT University Network (UNINET) meeting, which was led by Datuk Dr. Shahrin Bin Sahib, Chairman of the IMT-GT University Network (UNINET).

Assistant Professor Dr. Thakerng Wongsirichot, Vice President for Academic Affairs and International Affairs and IMT-GT UNINET coordinator for Thailand, stated that Prince of Songkla University is honored to host the 4th IMT-GT University Network meeting at the Pattani Campus. The Pattani Campus is strategically important, with its cultural diversity, environment, resources, and academic excellence. These factors present great opportunities for fostering collaboration among the universities in the IMT-GT network to achieve its objectives. The 4th IMT-GT University Network meeting focused on key strategic plans and building collaborative networks to enhance education within the IMT-GT UNINET. Over 30 academic leaders from three countries—Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand—participated, working together towards a shared vision, goals, objectives, and strategic activities aimed at achieving significant outcomes for the people in the IMT-GT region and its countries.

Assistant Professor Dr. Attachai Ueranantasun, Vice President for Pattani Campus, expressed his honor and pleasure in welcoming the participants to the 4th IMT-GT University Network meeting. He emphasized that Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus, situated in a culturally diverse area and as a higher education institution in the region, plays a crucial role as a center for education, development, and dissemination of new knowledge to the IMT-GT countries. He believes that this meeting will help strengthen cooperation among universities in the IMT-GT network, which is crucial for driving strategic growth under the IMT-GT framework to uplift the economy and foster widespread economic growth in the sub-region.
