Prince of Songkla University Welcomes Students from Universiti Malaysia Kelantan for Mobility Programme
On August 13, 2023, Prince of Songkla University (PSU), Pattani Campus, hosted an orientation session for 14 students from Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK), Malaysia, as part of the Students Mobility Programme. The event was graced by the presence of key university administrators, including the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Pattani Campus, Asst. Prof. Dr. Montira Leelakriangsak, Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Affairs, Pattani Campus, Asst. Prof. Dr. Bordin Waelateh, and Assistant President for Research and Social Mission, Asst. Prof. Dr. Warapark Maitreephun. Course instructors and professional staff also extended a warm welcome to the UMK students.
The Student Mobility Programme at PSU is designed to foster an international atmosphere on campus, offering a variety of activities aimed at enhancing students'''' English language proficiency and equipping them with the skills necessary to thrive in a global society. The programme emphasizes the development of intercultural competency and communication skills among both PSU and UMK students through participation in extracurricular activities.
As part of the programme, PSU provides a tuition waiver for international students. In addition to academic courses, inbound students have the opportunity to engage in cultural exchange programs with Thai students, explore local attractions in Pattani and other provinces, learn the Thai language, experience traditional Thai cuisine and attire, and immerse themselves in Pattani''''s heritage communities.
PSU is committed to expanding opportunities for students from ASEAN universities to participate in the mobility programme at its Pattani campus, further enriching the academic and cultural environment of the university.
