Trang Campus Faculty of Architecture explores international collaboration with Yasui Architects & Engineers, Japan




On 19 May 2025, a delegation from the Faculty of Architecture, PSU, Trang Campus, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Orakanya Nguansonsakul., Dean of the Faculty, along with faculty members, visited Yasui Architects & Engineers, Inc., a prestigious Japanese architectural firm with over 100 years of history and a global presence. The meeting was held to explore potential areas of collaboration and was joined by Mr. Atsushi Kusunoki, Executive Officer, Chief of the International Division, and Vice President of the International Department.



During the discussion, both parties exchanged visions and explored practical pathways for collaboration in three key areas: International Cooperative Education Development, the partnership aims to offer architecture students the opportunity to undertake internships at Yasui Architects & Engineers, Inc. offices in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Vietnam. This initiative will help enhance students’ global professional experience and industry readiness. Innovation and Research Collaboration, through the Faculty’s Innovation Center, to collaborate on research and design projects focused on local contexts and sustainability, addressing environmental, social, and cultural dimensions. The initiative will also help strengthen the research network in Southern Thailand. Academic Knowledge Exchange – Experts from Yasui Architects & Engineers, Inc. shared global architectural knowledge, such as sustainable design and disaster-resilient architecture, through seminars, guest lectures, and workshops designed for both students and the public.



This collaboration marked a significant step in elevating the faculty’s academic standards to an international level. It aligned with the vision of the Faculty of Architecture, PSU Trang, which aspires to be “a creator of the future for humanity” by integrating local wisdom with global standards through sustainable design and innovation.



Moreover, the partnership with Yasui Architects & Engineers underscores PSU’s mission to serve as a leading academic institution in the ASEAN region—one that is responsive to global change. This collaboration lays a strong foundation for advancing curriculum development, enhancing teaching and learning, and producing highly capable graduates who are well-prepared to thrive and compete on the global stage in a sustainable and meaningful way.
