Embassy of Canada representative visits PSU, discuss collaboration




Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wongkot Phuphumirat, Assistant President for International Affairs, along with administrators from the Faculties of Science, Medicine, and Nursing, welcomed and held discussions with Ms. Nitchawan Srivuboone, Trade Commissioner from the Embassy of Canada in Thailand. The meeting took place on 19 February 2025 at PSU’s Hat Yai Campus.

Also attending the meeting were Prof. Dr. Anchana Prathep, Dean of the Faculty of Science; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Uraporn Vongvatcharanon, Associate Dean for Human Resources Development and Health Sciences, Faculty of Science; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Karnsunaphat Balthip, Associate Dean for Research, Social Engagement, and International Affairs, Faculty of Nursing; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kittikorn Nilmanat, Chair of the Ph.D. Program, Faculty of Nursing; Assoc. Prof. Sumitra Prathep, MD., Associate Dean for Global Affairs, Public Relations and Corporate Communications, Faculty of Medicine; and Assoc. Prof. Kantara Saelim, MD., Director of Educational Resource Support, Faculty of Medicine; along with international affairs staff from the Global Affairs and Corporate Communications Center and the aforementioned faculties.



The meeting aimed to explore potential collaboration opportunities between PSU and Canadian educational institutions. Discussions covered various aspects, including academic program development, scholarship opportunities, student and faculty exchange, and strengthening the network of PSU alumni graduated from Canadian institutions. Meeting participants also explored possibilities for collaboration through projects supported by the Canadian government.
