PSU Delegates Participate in ASEAN-Australia Education Dialogue 2024 and ASEAN University Network Thematic Networks Assembly
The ASEAN-Australia Education Dialogue (AAED) 2024 was held in Vientiane under the theme “Building the ASEAN-Australia Education Partnership.” This two-day event marked a significant milestone in higher education cooperation, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-Australia relations during Lao PDR's year as ASEAN Chair. Organized by the ASEAN Focus Group (AFG VG) and the ASEAN University Network (AUN), with support from the Ministry of Education and Sports of Lao PDR and the National University of Laos (NUOL), the dialogue fostered meaningful exchanges among 110 participants from higher education institutions, government bodies, educational innovation sectors, and industries across both regions.

This constructive dialogue highlighted a collective approach to international cooperation in higher education. It emphasized building regional impact and strengthening existing partnerships while exploring new opportunities for joint research, student mobility, and industry collaboration.
Participants reiterated their commitment to developing robust educational frameworks that will drive regional cooperation, contributing to a shared vision of a sustainable and innovative future.
One of the highlights was Asst. Prof. Dr. Thakerng Wongsirichot, Vice President for Academic and International Affairs and Chair of the ASEAN University Network-Digital Transformations (AUN Dx), who delivered an extensive overview of the work done to establish the AUN Digital Learning Thematic Network (AUN DX), its first Board meeting, and future strategic plans, including a focus on AI in education.
At the recent AUN Thematic Network Working Group meeting, PSU delegates engaged with key ASEAN university executives, securing prominence for PSU's AUN Dx and fostering prospective regional collaborations.
