PSU Volunteer Center hosts 2nd International Conference "Youth Volunteer Power: Connecting People for Sustainable Development"
On 28 September 2024, the PSU Volunteer Center organized “The 2nd PSU International Volunteer Forum 2024: Power of Youth Volunteers – Connecting Everyone to Sustainable Development Goals”.
This inspiring event created a vibrant platform for students, faculty,
and participants to foster volunteerism and share impactful experiences
in youth development. The forum highlighted strategies in volunteer
management and knowledge exchange aimed at driving social change.
Keynote addresses were delivered by Mr. Anukul Peedkaew, Permanent
Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, who
presided over the opening, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Kaewpradub, PSU President, who offered a warm welcome. The event was held at the President’s Office Building on PSU’s Hat Yai Campus.

Dr.
Niwat emphasized PSU's enduring commitment to the principle, “Our Soul
is for the Benefit of Mankind.” This guiding philosophy has deeply
influenced the university’s mission, inspiring a range of activities
that cultivate social responsibility among students and encourage
impactful contributions to society. PSU’s Volunteer Center actively
coordinates both domestic and international networks, successfully
organizing five regional volunteer fairs across southern Thailand.
Through this second international forum, PSU seeks to further strengthen
collaboration among participants from diverse sectors, broadening the
reach and impact of volunteer initiatives.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Narit Duangsuwan,
Director of the PSU Volunteer Center, highlighted the center's
significant role in fostering a dynamic learning environment that
motivates volunteerism among children, youth, and students from PSU and
other institutions. Over the years, the center has successfully hosted
five regional volunteer fairs across southern Thailand and an
international conference on volunteering, building a network committed
to advancing volunteer efforts in areas like environmental preservation,
disaster response, community development, and health promotion. This
year, the center partnered with global volunteer networks, integrating
specialized knowledge and strategies tailored to local needs. As a
result, the forum has risen to an international level, facilitating
impactful exchanges of ideas, collaborative sessions, and strengthened
cooperation—all geared towards amplifying global volunteer efforts in
alignment with sustainable development goals.
