Alex Rendell, renowned actor and co-founder of EEC, visited PSU with a special lecture on "New Generation SciPSU for SDGs"
On August 29, 2024, the Faculty of Science at PSU, through the "Biology for Community" course in its Biology Program, had the honor of hosting Mr. Alex Rendell, renowned actor and co-founder of the Environmental Education Centre Thailand (EEC), for a special lecture titled “New Generation SciPSU for SDGs.” This insightful session aimed to foster understanding and promote active participation in achieving the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event was attended by faculty executives, led by Prof. Dr. Anchana Prathep, Dean of the Faculty of Science, alongside staff, students, and an enthusiastic audience. Additionally, Alex Rendell took the opportunity to visit the 50th Anniversary Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Natural History Museum, further engaging with the university community.
EEC Thailand is an organization dedicated to environmental education for youth, with a mission to raise awareness, foster understanding, and cultivate environmental consciousness. Through immersive, hands-on learning experiences, EEC uses nature as a living classroom where children, young people, and even parents can engage directly with the environment. This approach enables participants to discover sustainable methods of preserving nature, creating meaningful connections and promoting long-term conservation efforts.
