เมื่อวันที่ 31 พฤษภาคม 2565 ณ ประเทศญี่ปุ่น Times Higher Education หรือ THE สำนักจัดอันดับมหาวิทยาลัยโลกที่มีชื่อเสียงจากประเทศอังกฤษ ประกาศผลรางวัล “THE Award Asia 2022” โดยด้าน International Strategy of the Year ของเอเซีย ปี 2022 มหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ ได้รับเลือกเป็น 1 ใน 8 (SHORTLISTED) สถาบันอุดมศึกษาที่มีกลยุทธ์นานาชาติดีที่สุด ซึ่งประกอบด้วย

2. University of International Business and Economics (UIBE)
3. School of International Development and Cooperation (SIDC)
4. Izmir Institute of Technology
5. Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS)
6. Shanghai University
7. Singapore Management University (SMU)
8. Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR)
