PSU MIS-DSS

       The original Management Information System (MIS) of the university, based on the VAX 11/785 hardware, had been developed and in used for many years. Deterioration of the components of the hardware, due to long usage, caused frequent serious problems, and the software became out of date compare to current technology. It was evident that a major overhaul of the system be contemplated. Finally, the hardware has been changed to HP K200 with HP-Ux10,01 OS, and ORACLE Version 7 software is used. The ORACLE Version 7 is high ability database management system software suitable to use with large database system. The Computer Center has developed new MIS based largely on the original MIS, but with additional components consistent with the new requirements of the faculties and other organizations of the university and for better efficiency. At the present, there are 5 MIS systems in use in the university, namely;
         1. Financial System
         2. Salary System
         3. Student Registration System
         4. Inventory and Equipments System
         5. Personnel Information System
