Faculty of Nursing

Nursing education at Prince of Songkla University was initially under the umbrella of the Faculty of Medicine. A department of Nursing was set up in the Faculty of Medicine, and the first group of students was enrolled in 1973. The Faculty of Nursing was formally established in 1980 to provide tertiary education in nursing and to produce nursing personnel in accordance with the national economic and social development plan, as well as to be the center of nursing education of southern Thailand. It is now consists of eight departments, and one unit, namely, the department of Pediatric Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Administration of Nursing Education and Nursing Service, Surgical Nursing, Public Health Nursing, Obstetric-Gynecologic Nursing and Midwifery, Medical Nursing, Fundamental Nursing and the preschool-children development unit.
