Prince of Songkla University has started to offer a graduate program of study in1979. The first graduate program offered was a master degree program in Chemical Studies. The Graduate School, with the status of a Faculty, was formally established on June 11, 1980, and entrusted with the main task of coordinating the teaching of graduate levels, maintaining the standard of education and quality assurance, supporting and promoting research as well as being a central unit for selecting and admitting graduate students. At the present, the graduate School offers 134 programs of graduate study, consisting of 5 programs of diploma, 2 programs of graduate diploma, 93 programs of master degree and 34 Ph.D. programs.
