The Confucius Institute, Prince of Songkla University, with the support of the Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanpan, in short), was established in December, 2006. The Confucius Institute is the result of cooperation between Prince of Songkla University and Kwangsi Normal University. The primary objectives of the Confucius Institute are to develop a closer relationship between the two universities in order to open wider opportunities in Chinese language and Chinese culture for Thai people, and to develop a higher standard of Chinese study in Thailand. Most important, it will be working for the closer relationship between Thailand and China.
