PSU promoted to higher rank in quality Asian universities
The Asian University Ranking Top 200 by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) in 2010 has put PSU at a better rank than last year. PSU was ranked 101 this year as compared to 109 last year. There were 7 Thai universities on the list. Even though Prince of Songkla University is ranked 5th overall in Asian university rankings – top 200 by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), it is ranked 3rd in bioscience and biomedicine, and 4th in information technology and engineering, and 4th in the natural science group.
Assoc.Prof. Dr. Boonsom Siribumrungsukha, PSU President said that being ranked as a world class university is another channel to make known PSU educational quality worldwide. The university aims to be an ASEAN education hub and to be among the top 300 universities of the world in 2022 by improving the quality of academics and personnel so as to make them ready to move forward towards the goal. However, development of youth’s intelligence must be carried out along with other responsibilities. The true goal of Prince of Songkla University is being a high quality university that local people have faith in and being a valuable treasure for Thai society, i.e. being “the university for the benefits of mankind”.
